Family fun fall weekend

Lucas had a weekend of many family "firsts." He joined us on a trip to Minnetonka Orchards, shopping at Trader Joes and Whole Foods and lunch at the Groveland Tap. We all enjoyed the beautiful fall weather and  several meals on our new patio.

Welcome Mini McRitchie #2!

Lucas Daniel McRitchie was born 9/25/12 at 3:37am, weighing 7lbs, 11oz. & was 21 inches in length. After my frustration of going past my due date (again, by 4 days), a long 2 hour walk finally seemed to let Lucas know we were ready to meet him. And when he decided it was time to make his arrival, he came very quickly. We checked into the hospital at 2:57am and he was born at 3:37am! Henry has been very sweet with his new little brother. He loves to hold him and tickle his little toes. We were thrilled to be able to go home on 9/26 and happy to have Oma here for extra help.

Waiting for baby

We spent one of our last weekends as a family of only three at home this past weekend. Our house is in the midst of some renovations including a new patio and basement remodel. Henry has thoroughly enjoyed all of the construction equipment, dirt and rocks around our house. After every session of playing in the backyard these days, it is necessary that he undergo a complete change of outfit following a bath. 

The due date for baby boy #2 McRitchie is quickly approaching, and falls on dad's birthday this upcoming Friday (9/21). It seems as though the newest member of our family is going to make us wait just like Henry did. But we are hoping that he doesn't also make us wait the 8 days past the due date to meet him.

State Fair

Henry enjoyed a trip to the Minnesota State Fair with Grandma, Grandpa and Dad today where they saw a lot of exciting barn animals, tried out all of the John Deere tractors, perused the corn art, ate cheese curds, and got "cow tattoo(s)"!

Memphis

Henry and dad took an airplane down to Memphis to meet his new cousin David (born 7.1.12) and play with Mae, Aunt Kathryn, Uncle Dan and Deep (the dog). Henry loved being with his cousins, the Memphis Zoo, the Memphis Children's museum, seeing the other end of the Mississippi River and going to his first baseball game (the Memphis Redbirds vs. the Albuquerque Isotopes).
