The Man on the Radio in the Red Shoes

We really enjoyed and took advantage of the beautiful fall weather this past weekend. Mom completed her 20 mile marathon training run and Dad harvested his hops in preparation for brewing next weekend. And we can truly call ourselves Minnesotan's after attending the Prairie Home Companion annual street dance and meatloaf supper with our friends Chad, Katie and Nina. We picnicked while listening to the live broadcast of the show taking place at the Fitgerald theatre across the street. The highlight of the evening for Henry was when the entire crowd joined in on singing "Irene, Goodnight" with Garrison Keillor and he loved to join in on clapping with the crowd.

Bus to Minnehaha

Henry has a bit of an obsession with buses. He points out city and school buses to us every time we pass one in the car, on the way to the duck pond or on a walk. Dad had the great idea of taking Henry on an actual bus ride to Minnehaha Park today. Henry was a bit unsure at first, but ultimately loved the adventure; especially when we were driving over the Mississippi River! At the park, we played in Minnehaha Creek and had a delicious lunch at Sea Salt before getting on the bus again to travel home.

The Great Minnesota Get-Together

Henry, Grandma and Grandpa enjoyed their first trip to the Minnesota State Fair this past weekend. Henry loved seeing all the livestock animals, attempted to climb into several pens, and after multiple hand washings had his first tastes of state fair food (cheese curds, lefse and a chocolate milk shake).
