8 months old!

Henry, and the onesie balloon, are 8 months old today! Henry is currently getting his 2 top front teeth, he is eating 3 meals of solid food daily (including cereal, pureed fruits & vegetables, yogurt and ground turkey), and he is working on his pincer grasp and now eating rice puffs (see video below). He remains uninterested in tummy time or crawling, but has started scooching himself around on the floor when in a seated position. He still has not had a haircut, which remains a hot topic of debate (Claire suggested that he dress up as Beethoven for Halloween). And he is unfortunately no longer sleeping through the night, something we are hoping that will change soon.

We enjoyed the day with my co-workers and their beautiful babies. I am not used to Henry being the oldest baby as he is the youngest in his daycare room and 2nd youngest in our mom and baby group; it makes me realize how much he has grown and changed in the past 8 months.

We also celebrated dad's 32nd birthday this past week. Henry gave dad a new cooking pot to help make cooking dinner for mom every night more enjoyable.

Henry, Grandma & Grandpa

We had a great weekend. Henry received a lot of love and attention from Grandma and Grandpa, while Matt and I were spoiled with the ability to sleep-in as well as go out for dinner while Grandma and Grandpa babysat.

September mom & baby group

We had a fabulous time getting together with our mom and baby group again today. I was concerned as to how the outing would go due to the fact that Henry is currently cutting a top front tooth, he skipped his morning nap and he started crying immediately after we arrived. But he rallied, and as you can see, he had a great time.

BMT ladies

Henry and I had a great time today getting together with my 3 coworkers that are currently out on maternity leave. Henry spent the majority of the time flirting with the 3 beautiful ladies and ignoring the other children. I of course was excited to see all of the tiny and gorgeous babies (ages 4-8 weeks old). Although I miss them at work, I hope the remainder of their maternity leaves go by slowly.

It's hard to believe...

But this adorable little boy is causing his parents a lot of grief these days. Henry has been consistently waking up three times every night, whereas he used to sleep through. This is making life very hard and tiring for two working parents! After consulting with family and friends, we have a new strategy for trying to get him to sleep better... starting with increasing the amount of food he gets before going to bed.

Henry was exhausted after spending the morning with his dad while I was at work today.

Henry and friends

Henry gets a lot of extra attention these days. He had a special visit from our friends Rastko and Monica last weekend

He was taught about some of the finer things in life, like Miller Lite, by Mike this weekend

And he feels pretty stylish wearing his new "jinbei" today from our friends Masa, Aya and Anna in Tokoyo.
