Mother's Day - Race for the Cure

On Mother's Day we celebrated two very important ladies in our lives, Grandma Sally and our great friend Kristin, by participating in the Race for the Cure at the Mall of America that helps raise money and awareness for the fight against breast cancer.

Dogs, dogs, dogs

Henry is in love with dogs! He was so excited that we got to dog-sit for a weekend for Teddy, our friends' puppy. He was such a sweet little dog and was very tolerant of Henry's constant attention. He never quite figure out that it was mom that was most excited to have him in the house, and he followed dad around everywhere and was always at his side. Lucas continued to need to stay a safe distance away from Teddy (as with all dogs), although he had intermittent bursts of confidence when he forgot that a parent was not at his side.

We also visited mom's friend Annette's dogs. Henry said he liked Gidget the best because she gave him kisses.

May Day Parade

We enjoyed the lovely weather and the quirky May Day Parade in Powderhorn Park with the Shevlin and Hynes families. We were fascinated by the Black Label Bike Club of Minneapolis, and Henry was quite impressed they had fire on their float.

Michigan Easter

We took a road trip to Michigan for the short Easter break from school. We had lots of fun with Grandma and Grandpa, but were happy to also get quick visits in with cousins Oliver and Elliot (& family), Oma and even mom and dad's cousins Janka (visiting from Germany) and Jon (on our return trip through Chicago).

Sunshine and snowmelt

It's finally spring! We have been able to go outside for more than 10 minutes at a time and the snow is melting away. Spring is also marked by the seasonal reopening of Sea Salt in Minnehaha Park and seeing our neighbors outdoors again (after multiple months of everyone hibernating).
