We are so lucky that one of our wonderful friends from the University of Michigan has family in the Twin Cities and makes a summer trip to visit every year. Last year, Henry fell in love with her two girls; and as you can tell from the photos, the feelings are still there.

Hot times in St. Paul
Grandma and Grandpa came to visit and babysit this past weekend while dad was out of town and mom had to work. They spent some very hot, hot days playing with Henry both inside our non-air conditioned home and outside. Henry decided that 90+ degree weather was when he really wanted to avoid the shade and get into learning to ride his tricycle around the block over and over, as well as run up and down the hill at St. Catherine's. Thank you Grandma and Grandpa for enduring the heat chasing after Henry while we were enjoying the air conditioning at work.

Dogs!
Henry was very excited to go to my co-worker's house this past weekend and meet her wonderful dogs: Madeline, Bob, Jack and Ted. It was even more exciting for Henry that Maddy LOVED to be pet, would stay in one place and is very calm. I have a feeling that Henry will be asking for his own dog very soon.

Happy Father's day!
Happy Father's day to a wonderful dad! Our day of celebrating dad included a fun family trip to the farmers market and Mears Park, eating delicious pastries at The Heartland, splashing in water puddles and playing in the backyard.

Duck pond
We enjoyed several trips to the duck pond with Grandma and Grandpa last weekend. Henry has been very excited about seeing baby ducks and goslings as well and many turtles at the pond, and it has been very interesting for us to see how quickly these animals grow. He has also started attempting to climb several of the cedar trees that have low limbs, which is something that he often sees older kids doing. On this particular trip he became quite upset when he wasn't allowed (or aided) in climbing beyond a height higher than his mother's head!
