Michigan Easter

We took a road trip to Michigan for the short Easter break from school. We had lots of fun with Grandma and Grandpa, but were happy to also get quick visits in with cousins Oliver and Elliot (& family), Oma and even mom and dad's cousins Janka (visiting from Germany) and Jon (on our return trip through Chicago).

Sunshine and snowmelt

It's finally spring! We have been able to go outside for more than 10 minutes at a time and the snow is melting away. Spring is also marked by the seasonal reopening of Sea Salt in Minnehaha Park and seeing our neighbors outdoors again (after multiple months of everyone hibernating).

Lucas, the limit tester

We get some chuckles out of the notes daycare is sending home about Lucas on a daily basis. He's loving being in the toddler classroom.

Lucas is a toddler!

Lucas turned 18 months, moved up to the toddler room at daycare and started walking! Hooray! He is very proud of his new skill of walking. He often refuses to be carried because he wants to walk, which makes the daycare pick up process very difficult!

18 month stats for Lucas: 25 pounds, 13 ounces (73rd percentile) and 32.5 inches in length (55th percentile).

Nearing spring

We have had a seemingly never ending and cold winter, but we are finally getting some signs of spring: snow melting, puddles to play in, mud galore, even some tulips peaking through in the front of the house (never mind that the weather forecast is predicting 6-10 inches of snow in the next few days).
